The weather forecasted for it to rain the day of Meghan and Jesse‘s wedding. With good luck on our side it simply showered in the morning and was a beautiful sunny day in Spring Texas at the Oak Tree Manor on March 9, 2019. Special thanks to Julia Stone with Set In Stone Wedding and Event Planning for creating a seamless timeline for the day!
Meghan and Jesse fell in love at Texas State University as undergraduates and have had the support and love from family and friends since their engagement in November of 2017. it’s hard to believe that their wedding day has come and past as it feels just like yesterday we were taking their engagement pictures in San Marcos! Dozens of people drove or flew in from all parts of the country including Mississippi, Washington, Illinois, Colorado, San Marcos, Laredo, and San Antonio. That’s almost 5,000 miles of love spread across the United States! The bride and I have known each other since middle school but became friends our senior year of high school during our photography class. When the newly engaged couple asked me to be their wedding photographer last year I of course said yes! I was counting down the days until the big day as routinely as they were.
I left their wedding with the biggest smile on my face, I couldn’t stop being happy because my heart was filled with so much joy and so much love from spending an entire day with the newlyweds and 160 of their closest friends and family. I can only hope that the photos I took below do justice to these two incredible people, Meghan and Jesse. Congratulations, Holstine Family – I am so incredibly happy for you and am honored that you chose me to capture one of the most important days your lives!
One of the sweetest moments of the entire day was when I asked Caitlin to look at Meghan for a photo and she started bursting in tears! A sisters love is an unbreakable bond and I’m so happy I got to capture this loving moment in time between these two.
I was especially looking forward to Meghan and Jesse’s First Look before the ceremony. Even though they’ve have been dating for years you can still catch them looking at each other as if it was new love. The love and affection they have for one another is so sweet to see. Jesse’s smile says it all here as he gets to see his bride-to-be for the first time on their wedding day – love these two so much!
Love is in the air, special shoutout to the newly engaged couple!
One of my favorite details from Meghan and Jesse’s Wedding was the tribute to their late parents, Meghan lost her Mother and Jesse lost his Father. The two reserved seats on the first row with Meghan’s Mother’s dress and Jesse’s Father’s boots. Even though they physically weren’t here to help celebrate this joyous occasion, I know they were watching down over us all day.
Meghan and Jesse, I know that if your parents were with us today they would be so proud of each of you and I can only imagine how thrilled they would be that you found each other!

If seeing the DJ have to pull a 007 move “mic drop” down from the balcony didn’t make you laugh, than Meghan’s Dad’s speech would have! Starting with the classic, “Let’s get ready to ruuuuummmbblle!” due to the nature of the microphone, he spoke words of love and gratitude that Meghan and Jesse found each other. The Best Man, Jesse’s twin brother Wayne, and Maid of Honor, Meghan’s sister Caitlin, toasted the newlyweds after.
My favorite part from Wayne’s speech was when he said that, “It didn’t feel like he lost his brother to Meghan, but that he gained a sister.” The entire room was teary eyed from that note of sentiment! Next, Caitlin started talking about how fixing Meghan’s hair and makeup today made her feel like they were kids again playing dress-up and it made me tear of thinking about my two older sisters. I’m so thankful that I was able to capture those moments for them!
The dance floor was on fire, we started dancing around 8:00 and kept going until almost 11:00!
Meghan and Jesse danced their last dance to Jake Scott’s “Tuesday’s”. I was honored that they asked me to be with them as they share their last moments together on their wedding day. It truly was the best way to wrap up one of the most loving and fun weddings I’ve ever been to!
